Happy Birthday ... um oh yeah BIRTHDAAAAAAY!

()

So my daughter is turning one this weekend. I have not bought any gifts, planned any parties, or put much thought into the whole thing. I love my little bean but does she need a huge party that she won’t understand and in most cases as I have witnessed have a mental breakdown from all the goings on? I do suck for the whole gift thing. I can confess to that but she has EVERYTHING she could want or need to play with thanks to the fact that she is the second child so out came all her brothers old baby toys.
I am going to force myself to buy something today. This means the mall (UGH) perhaps a keepsake such as a bracelet or necklace. On second thought she might end up chewing the damn thing off. Maybe some Rawhide… ooooh and swim goggles for her toilet adventures? She would probably really enjoy those more than the alternative. The truth is I have enjoyed her so much that everyday we celebrate having her around. Why ruin a good thing. I know some of you are thinking I am horrible for not wanting to go all out and that’s fine I can live with myself. A simple gift and some cake to smoosh in her hair and we are good to go right?

Right!Anyone who spends more
Right!
Anyone who spends more then $50 on a first birthday is kidding themselves (they’re not doing it for the baby - it’s for the adult - face it). Even if you ask most older kids what they want, the number one answer is more time with their parents, so there ya go. An intimate first birthday party is a lovely low-key choice.
