"What, you don't want to be a hot dog?"

When I first asked my son what he wanted to be for Halloween his first response was, “A SCIENTIST!” Thrilled I began to plan his costume. I would of course make him a mad scientist. But something happened on the way to the costume shop.

He has decided he wants to be a Clone Trooper. Ugh, thanks George Lucas. Can I really deny him the childhood right of being whatever it is he wants to be for Halloween? I remember my mom had these horrible swim cap type hats that would blow up to erect this spooky halloween character. This made getting in and out of the car a piece of cake. Then there was the year I was a common house plant…or a fern as my mother would proudly state when asked what I was supposed to be.

So even though I really think there are far more creative and cheaper costumes out there I did give in and let my son choose what he wants to be but damn it my youngest IS going to be a mouse.
