Who are the Weirdo's in your Neighborhood?

We recently moved from a two bedroom townhome to an actual three bedroom house with a yard! You would be excited too if for two years your backyard was pine needles and a cement slab, oh and a major thoroughfare.

It’s now been about four months since the move and I am starting to notice the neighborhood oddballs, as harmless as they might be. I thought sharing them might make for a funny blog. Or a good start for a police report on a missing person.

First (and I do apologize if I offend anyone) we have what I like to refer as the Christian Sandwich. Both neighbors on either side have some serious love for the big man in the sky. Not that this is freaky, just a little freaky for them to have us in the middle. My only real gripe about them is that one side honks their horn every morning at about seven. Didn’t Jesus just wave goodbye?

Across the street we have a family who’s dryer is so loud that they won’t even house it inside. My husband and I spent nights trying to figure out what the hell that rhythmic squeaking noise was. A swing? Nobody swings outside in the rain… A neighbor finally clued us in, as they were as curious as us, they took a walk to find the evil noise machine doing its business.

Last but not least and thankfully not really on my street. We have an older “gentleman” and I use that term loosely. We’ll call him Chuck. Chuck stands outside in any weather on any given day and sort of looks like he might say something to you or lunge at you. He’s old and I think maybe likes Miller Light or PBR. I first ran into our dear friend chuck while strolling our youngest home from the park. I noticed Chuck standing close to the sidewalk and thought nothing of it until I saw a couple people walking towards me cross the street when they saw Chuck. I’m no fool! I crossed the street too. Since then I see him outside at various times standing or swaying back and forth ranting away at “something”.

Now with spring on it’s way and summer quick to follow I can’t wait to see what comes out of the woodwork…
