I recently signed my nearly four year old up for soccer. My first thought being that he was either really going to like it or hate everything about it.

Much to my surprise and enjoyment he loved it. Even though during the first practice I noticed that we might be hanging with the wrong soccer group (Mommy and me soccer). We quickly made our way to the older tots and he was raring to go.

We also decided that it would just be our time together. That means dad stays home with the younger sister and we set out for coffee and youth activities. That being said, it’s pretty funny to watch some of the kids that just don’t want to be there, break down as mom or dad forces them to participate when the child is kicking and screaming the whole time. I actually stood next to some moron father who said to me, “Yeah that’s my Timmy over there. He’s always trying to join the soccer games at the park so we thought he would love this…” Sorry, I tuned out after awhile but I do know that little Timmy is NOT one of the kids who loves soccer. His mom sat with him the whole time as he yelled at the top of his lungs, “Nooooooooooooooo noooooooooooooo please!” His dad then said something about not knowing whether or not he actually had to pay for this stuff.
